Life Groups.
We don’t have any programs at The Stirring. Life Groups are all we do. We meet as a big family on the weekend to experience God together and shape our community in a direction. Then we live it out in radical community through the week. We try to keep it simple!
We are a church that is shaped by five words: WE LOVE. WE MAKE DISCIPLES. We believe discipleship (becoming more like Jesus) happens best in community, so we have chosen Life Groups as our main way of making disciples. Our groups gather throughout the week in homes, coffee shops and dorm rooms to encourage each other in the way of Jesus.
At a Life Group you can expect to talk and ask questions about our weekend gatherings. We love to leave space for prayer and time to encourage each other. We hope that each life group would reach out in service to their community and meet the practical needs of the people within their group. Our desire is that all of our Life Groups start to feel like family.
Life Group Values.
Be committed
If you are not able to make the majority of the meetings, then it will probably benefit you and the group to wait till you have the time to commit more fully to a group. Most groups discuss the content of the Sunday gathering, so it is important that you are committed to being at a gathering each week or a least listen to the podcast.
Be confidential
The sharing of personal testimonies and being vulnerable in Life Groups help shape a family that cares for each other. Everything that is shared within a Life Group should remain confidential.
Be cool
The dynamics of a group operate best when everyone has a chance to share. Dominating every conversation is not helpful in fostering the family atmosphere that we are trying to create. Life Groups are not just about you. Please be sensitive to the dynamics of being a part of a group and your place in it.
